QOU and UNESCO launch a series of workshops for media students

  Al-Quds Open University and UNESCO launched a series of workshops for Media students in Assessing Media Institutions' Strategic Management and Extending Media Literacy in the Palestinian  Higher Education" funded by UNESCO.

 

The Faculty of Media at Al-Quds Open University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Media at Hebron University, organized a training workshop titled "Digital Safety and Security for Journalists," with the aim of raising awareness among media students about the importance of digital safety for journalists and methods to protect against hacking, tracking, and theft of journalists' data and information.

The workshop was inaugurated by said Dr. Saeed Shaheen, lecturer at the Faculty of Media clarifying that the course comes within the context of a series of courses related to media education organized by Al-Quds Open University within a project funded by UNESCO. Dr. Shaheen explained to the students about the attempts that journalists are subjected to from hacking their devices, stealing their data and harming them through malicious software, which takes place in several ways and means.

Mr. Anas Amr, an expert in information security at Hebron University,   discussed the various sorts of electronic viruses, how they are created, and their formulas, methods of confronting, detecting, and combating them.
