QOU participates in the Fourth National Forum for Innovation and Excellence

 Al-Quds Open University participated in the Fourth National Forum for Innovation and Excellence  organized by the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence: "Fourth Industrial Revolution", under the auspices and in the presence of President Mahmoud Abbas . The event took place at the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society on 9-10/2019.

Eng. Adnan Samara, Chairman of the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence, thanked Al-Quds Open University for its active participation  in terms of the submitted scientific researches and the projects of distinguished students. He also thanked Al-Quds Educational Satellite Channel for its role in the success of the media aspect of the Forum.

The researchers of Al-Quds Open University presented (5) distinctive projects, most notably is the development of a system for remote control of greenhouses, where a group of lecturers in the fields of agriculture and technology succeeded to develop  a control system based on the "Internet of Things" (IOT) to manage farming in greenhouses.

Lecturers at QOU developed an integrated automated system for the management and organization of traffic in Palestinian cities, under the supervision of Dr. Eng. Yousef Sabbah, the Project Supervisor. The project is a direct and comprehensive application of  smart cities through utilizing  the Internet of Things (IoT) and the accompanying movement of big data, analysis and its utilization in future and statistical studies.

The students developed a "Smart Bracelet" project that is able to track children and elderly and monitor them remotely as they go to school or in public and crowded areas in order to maintain their safety and avoid being lost or kidnapped, through an "Android” application specially designed for this purpose.

 The students also designed the "Sensory Room ", targeting children with autism and its types. A system works according to a well-studied system to enhance cognition and develop communication and interaction skills among children with autism to serve them and their families.

In addition, a student at the Faculty of Agriculture succeeded in developing an integrated environmental agricultural machine that is capable of performing a set of operations to prepare the agricultural soil in high efficiency.
