Overview
This conference focuses on innovations and best practices of teaching and learning English in Palestinian Higher Education Institutions. The conference focuses on the latest trends in teaching and learning English language and literature. It also thrusts on enhancing and developing the teaching abilities and capacities of English language academic staff. The conference will provide instructors with opportunities to improve their knowledge in the areas of methods, principles, innovations, modernization and materials in order to equip them with the actual needs of the students at various levels along with different teaching approaches to face the challenges of the 21st Century. As the emphasis on innovations and best practices in teaching and learning systems continues, new technology and trends for teaching and learning will be adopted. The conference aims to provide a forum for presenting innovative methods and practical solutions, with a focus on real-life situation and field observation. It also aims to bring researchers, students, and professionals in the area of teaching English language from Palestine and the Arab world to share and disseminate their experiences and research results, to network, exchange ideas and strengthen existing partnerships and foster new collaborations.
Conference Importance
The significance of the conference lies on raising crucial questions in the field of education, such as how English is taught in Palestinian higher education institutions? What are the shortcomings of the current trends? In addition, what are the best practices in teaching and learning English in either literary, language, translation or linguistic fields? Most importantly, how to identify those gaps between the current adopted trends in Palestine and those advanced ones with a focus on language teaching and learning within higher educational systems in Palestine. The conference seeks to attract the attention of academic staff, policy makers and implementers, as well as learners to the latest innovations and practices in teaching and learning English language and literature. It will also appeal to language academics, wishing to gain insight into current research in the field as well as new trends in teaching and learning practices in Palestine. The conference is organized to attract the EFL/ESL/communities to promote connections between theory and practice, and explores different perspectives on the application of research findings into different practices. Researchers, EFL/ESL experts, academic staff, material developers and scholars are invited to submit their papers.
Conference Objectives
The conference aims to achieve the following objectives:
- To explore innovations and the best practices in teaching and learning English language and literature.
- To enhance and develop the teaching abilities and capacities of English language academic staff.
- To attract academic staff, policy makers and implementers, and other stakeholders to the needed reform in higher education teaching and learning system.
- To evaluate the current adopted methods and trends in teaching English as a foreign language in higher education institutions in Palestine.
- To bridge the gap between the current trends in teaching and learning English language in higher education institutions in Palestine and the best practices in advanced universities.
- To foster best practices in teaching and learning English language and literature to senior and young scholars and stakeholders, who can carry out the mission of reform of prevailing methods in teaching and learning English language and literature in higher education institutions in Palestine.

Terms and Conditions for Participations
The research should reflect at least one of the sub themes of the conference.
- Abstracts should be submitted separately not later than May 15, 2019, and should not exceed one page.
- Full research papers should be submitted not later than August 1, 2019. The Research should include an abstract in both Arabic and English. The content should be proofread and edited. Research should also include all scientific elements that should be available such as the research’s problem, importance, objectives, justifications, limitations, methodology, procedures, tools, most important results and recommendations, etc.
- The research should fulfill all the elements of the scientific research.
- Research papers that have been previously presented in other conferences or published in any journal or currently being reviewed for publishing are not accepted.
- Theoretical scientific articles that include new ideas and concepts related to the conference themes are accepted.
- References list should be included at the end of the research paper. If the reference is a book, the citation should include author’s name, book title, translator name if any, place of publishing, publisher, edition, year of publication, and page number. If the reference is a journal, the citation should indicate the author name, research title, journal name, volume, date of publishing and page number.
- The research paper should be between 5000 and 7000 words, typed in a Word file, font 14 normal for the body of the text, and bold for the titles, with 1.5 line space, using Times New Roman font. The margins should be 2.5 on all sides.
- The researchers should submit their CVs along with the research paper, specifying their general discipline, specific major, academic degree, academic title, the attended university and place of work (university or organization).
- The conference administration is not obliged to provide reasons and justifications for research papers that are rejected by the scientific committee.
- Participation form should be filled in and submitted.
