Al-Quds Open University, represented by the Faculty of Agriculture and the Continuing Education Center, participated on Wednesday, 29 October 2025, in a workshop held at the headquarters of the Arab Development Society in Jericho. The workshop focused on reviewing the activities of the project “Promoting Market-Oriented Investments and Innovations for Sustainable Agri-Food System Development.” The event was attended by representatives from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the Canadian Cooperation, and the Danish Cooperation. The University’s Agricultural Research Center also took part in implementing some of the project’s activities.
The workshop included a presentation of the key interventions implemented throughout the project, followed by a discussion among participants on the main outcomes achieved and the mechanisms required to put the project’s outputs into practice.
Dr. Aziz Salameh, the project coordinator, delivered a presentation highlighting the University’s contribution through an experimental cultivation of quinoa in the Jordan Valley area, outlining the main findings of this trial.
The workshop also featured a field visit to several project activities, including a visit to the University’s Agricultural Research Center, where the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Khaled Hardan, gave a presentation on the center’s research activities and achievements.
At the end of the visit, the delegations expressed their satisfaction with the results achieved and emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation in applied agricultural research, as well as the exchange and dissemination of knowledge among experts, specialists, and farmers.
