The Faculty of Technology and Applied Sciences took part in the Palestinian Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM-PCPC 2025) which was held at the Arab American University on 15–16 October 2025.

A total of 45 teams representing 12 Palestinian universities (nine from the West Bank and three from Gaza) competed to solve 12 progressively challenging programming problems requiring logical reasoning, algorithmic analysis, and the use of advanced algorithms to develop efficient solutions within a fixed time.

Dr. Waleed Salous, Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Applied Sciences at QOU, expressed his pride in the students’ participation, noting that it reflected a spirit of creativity, teamwork, and analytical thinking. This participation aligns with the University’s vision to empower students and enhance their competencies in technology and programming skills essential for today’s job market and for fostering excellence and innovation.”

Dr. Salous extended his gratitude to the University’s administration for its continuous support and commended the students for “honorably representing Al-Quds Open University in this prestigious national competition.”

It is worth mentioning that the ACM Competition is among the oldest and largest programming contests worldwide, aiming to develop students’ skills in algorithmic analysis, problem-solving, teamwork, and creative thinking. The winning Palestinian teams will advance to the Arab Regional Contest (ACM-ACPC) and then to the World Finals, which bring together the best programmers from around the world.
