Researcher from Al-Quds Open University Participates in an International Conference at the University of Michigan

 A researcher from Al-Quds Open University took part in an international conference at the University of Michigan.

Mr. Wissam Samara, Assistant Director of the Center for Administrative and Economic Research and a researcher at Al-Quds Open University, participated as a speaker in the International Conference of Doctors Against Genocide, held at the University of Michigan, USA. Samara spoke in a panel discussion titled:
“Global Health Failure in the Prevention of Genocide and Weaponization of Disease.”

In his intervention, Samara explained how the occupation transformed the Palestinian economy from a semi-independent economy into a genocide economy. He pointed out that the discovery of natural gas in the Mediterranean Sea was a critical factor that contributed to the genocide against the people of Gaza. He also highlighted the destruction suffered by Al-Quds Open University branches in Gaza due to the ongoing war.

The conference sessions included exchanges of views on the most pressing challenges facing the current Palestinian reality, particularly in the health sector, and the severe destruction and shortage of medicines endured by hospitals in Gaza.
