Al-Quds Open University Receives the Representative of the Republic of Malta to Palestine

 Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shaer, received H.E. Mr. Franklin Aquilina, Representative of the Republic of Malta to the State of Palestine, at his office in Ramallah and Al-Bireh on Tuesday, 6 May 2025.

The visit aimed to strengthen relations and explore avenues for academic and research cooperation between Al-Quds Open University and higher education institutions in Malta.

Prof. Dr. Al-Shaer welcomed the esteemed guest, expressing his appreciation for the visit, which reflects the deepening relationship between the University and the Republic of Malta. He recalled a personal experience from his own visit to Malta, highlighting the strong bonds of friendship with the Maltese people and acknowledging the Maltese Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ continued support for international efforts in favor of the Palestinian cause. We look forward to expanding academic collaboration and establishing future partnerships with Maltese universities,” Dr. Al-Shaer noted. “Education is the true wealth of the Palestinian people. While we have suffered great losses in many areas, education remains the cornerstone of our future and the foundation of our state.”

Mr. Aquilina expressed his honor in representing the Republic of Malta in Palestine over the past five years. “I have observed many shared traditions and cultural values between our peoples, including a strong commitment to education,” he said.

Mr. Aquilina added: “We closely follow developments in the Middle East peace process and support the efforts toward establishing a democratic, sovereign, Palestinian state. Despite the difficult circumstances facing the Palestinian people, I am both surprised and impressed by the high standards of higher education in Palestine. I look forward to serving as a bridge connecting Al-Quds Open University with universities and educational institutions in Malta.”
