Discussing ways of cooperation between the Al-Quds Open University and the Open University of Malaysia

 A delegation from Al-Quds Open University discussed with its counterpart from the Open University of Malaysia, on Monday 13/12/2021, ways of cooperation between the two parties.

The meeting, which was held via zoom, was attended by the University's Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Samir Al-Najdi, the University's Vice President for Academic Affairs, welcomed the participants and conveyed the greetings of the University's President, Prof. Younes Amr, noting that "Al-Quds Open University has been running open education in Palestine since 1991, and has about (50,000) students  and has graduated about (150) thousand  I n the West Bank and Gaza Strip, the university has eight faculties that provide bachelor's and master's degrees..

Prof. Al-Najdi continued, "At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the University switched to full e-learning and succeeded in developing this technology through qualified experts, and we aspire to strengthen cooperation in the field of educational technology with various universities around the world."

Dr. Ahmed Azani Awang, Director General of Business Development and Support Services at the Open University of Malaysia, said, "OUM was established in 2000 as Malaysia's seventh private university, and it offers more than (56) academic programs in a wide range of disciplines, including information technology, engineering, arts, social sciences, business, and science, and has more than (79) thousand students and (5) faculties: Business and Management,, Science and Technology, Applied Social Sciences, Education and Languages, Information and Communication Technology and Multimedia.

Dr. Islam Amro, President Assistant for ICT & Production Affairs, explained the University's development and work in Jerusalem, the capital of the Palestinian State of Palestine, and how it faced challenges in its work due to its headquarters in Jerusalem at its inception, "and today it is providing educational services in the West Bank and Gaza Strip." Dr. Islam Amro also discussed the challenges that QOU faces, as well as the academic degrees and specializations it offers, and the electronic services it offers to the community
