On Monday 27 May 2019, the President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, honored President of Al Quds Open University Prof.  Younes Amr for the support of QOU of the steadfastness of the Jerusalemite people.

The honoring ceremony was held at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, in the presence of a number of senior officials.

During the ceremony, Mr. Mohammad Mustafa, The Chairman of the Board of the Foundation, presented the Foundation's achievements for the ninth year in a row in supporting the refugees in the Diaspora camps, especially in Lebanon. Mustafa said that the Foundation works within four programs: Student Program, Youth Empowerment, Social Solidarity Program, and Assistance Program. Mustafa also mentioned that the number of graduates benefiting from the student program reached 3,200 students (2973 academics and 227 professionals), noting that the number of students who are still studying and benefiting from the grants is 1500 students Including 1,300 academic students and 200 vocational students.
