QOU graduate, Jamma Abu Hasan, wins awards for her agricultural innovations

 Jamma Ali Ibrahim Abu Hasan, a graduate of al Quds Open University /the Faculty of Agriculture was able to register her name as one of the young innovators who left a mark in the field of agriculture by introducing a number of innovations. Abu Hasan innovated a system that reduces water consumption in date palm cultivation, as well as the invention of a device to plant medicinal and aromatic plants.

Juma participated in "My Project Begins with an Idea" project which was organized by the Center for Continuing Education of Birzeit University and in cooperation with eight Palestinian universities. She presented her project, which competed with 470 projects and pioneering ideas at the national level. Abu Hasan  has been ranked first for inventing an electronic device to "suspend and cut medicinal and aromatic plants", which is expected to bring profit to farmers working in the field of medicinal plants and aromatics.

Abu Hasan thanked the QOU for the support from her supervisors at the Faculty of Agriculture and the Deanship of Student Affairs, which contributed to her success.
