Al-Quds Open University in Tulkarm held a specialized scientific seminar on "The reality and features of the 3G service in Palestine and ways of shifting to future generations". The seminar was held under the auspices of Prof. Younes Amr, President of the University, in partnership with "Jawwal".
Director of Sales at Jawwal, Mr. Alaa Hijazi, spoke about the reality and features of the 3G service in Palestine and the way of shifting to future generations. Mr. Hihazi gave a comprehensive overview of the reality of Palestinian cellular communications during 20 years of obstacles and huge investments in building the network. He also talked about the challenges and obstacles imposed by the occupation, including the prevention of launching of the third generation in Gaza.
Following the opening of the seminar, a scientific session was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Islam Amr, the Assistant to the President of QOU for Technology and Production . Dr. Amr said that the role of governmental and academic institutions is to provide a good presentation of this development, and this is what the seminar addressed today," noting that the Palestinian companies created in building a network that benefits most of the few waves granted to them.
Dr. Adnan Salman, a lecturer in computer science at An-Najah National University, presented a paper entitled "The Role of Cellular Networks in Enabling (IOT) Technologies. Dr. Osama Salameh, a lecturer in computer engineering at the Arab American University talked about the 4G and 5G available applications and the challenges they face. Finally, Dr. Imad Saada, a faculty member at Al Quds Open University, talked about Security Mobile.
