QOU and University of Kent sign a cooperation agreement

QOU and University of Kent in Ohio in the United States of America signed a cooperation agreement in the academic field and students exchange at QOU headquarters in Ramallah. Prof. Younes Amr, QOU President signed on behalf of QOU and Prof. Rayan Miller from Engligh Language section signed on behalf of the University of Kent.

Prof. Amr welcomed the guests in Palestine mentioning that QOU is a national Palestinian institution that was established by PLO when the Israeli occupation escalated their oppression against the Palestinian universities and reaching education became hard. QOU was established to overcome all these obstacles. Prof. Amr briefed the guests about the development of QOU to have 19 branches, 5 in Gaza Strip and 14 in the West Bank to include more than 50 thousands students where women form more than 60% of the students and it serves students from the marginalized communities. He also stated that QOU is accredited regionally and internationally and it is a member at the different regional and international organizations. He explained that QOU is willing to cooperate with the international universities to improve English language learning in Palestine.

Prof. Miller expressed his happiness to visit QOU and added that he respects the improvement of QOU and the great mission of providing education for all the Palestinian people. He expressed his pride to represent the University of Kent as international cooperation is part of the University of Kent’s mission. He assured that renewing the agreement will provide more opportunities for academic exchange and will enrich the chances of more future cooperation.
