On Tuesday 25/09/2018, under the auspices of QOU President Prof. Younis Amr, QOU held the First Arab symposium on Media and Social Responsibility in the occasion of the international day for social responsibility at Nablus branch. The symposium was opened with a speech by Prof. Amr who thanked the organizing partners and participants. He also briefed the attendees about the University’s concern to make education accessible for all out of the University social responsibility.
The symposium was attended by Major General Akram Rjoob who delivered a speech about “civil peace through the lens of a social responsible person”, Prof. Nour Abu Arrub, Palestine Technical University President who presented a paper about “social responsibility within the framework of sustainable development” and Prof. Hasan Dwik, representative of Al-Quds University President who presented a paper about “the experience of Al-Quds University in the social responsibility”. In addition to Mr. Sami Kilani, An-Najah National University President Assistant who briefed the audience about the University’s role in the social responsibility and other figures from the local organizations that have a noticeable impact in the social responsibility.
Prof. Amr and Prof Yousef Diab Awad, Nablus branch director honored the participants at the end of the symposium that came up with a number of recommendations that was concluded by Dr. Marwan Darwish, Vice President for Administrative Affairs. The participants recommended highlighting the importance of the cooperation between the different social sectors in order to build better community based on the social responsibility, they also agreed that the universities should take a leading role in social responsibility that will serve achieving the sustainable development, in addition to enhance the relations between the public and private sectors.
