Under the auspices of QOU President Prof. Younis Amr, the Deanship of Graduate studies and Scientific Research at QOU a scientific day entitled: “improving the abilities of the graduate students in writing scientific papers” on 22/09/2018. The event was attended by a number of the University figures, graduate students and faculty members of the MA programs.
The participants recommended more attention for experimental, qualitative and procedural researches with particular focus on the importance of applying the rules of scientific quoting and avoid plagiarism. The participants requested more activities in this specific subject that target graduate students in order to enhance their abilities in the field of scientific research.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Prof. Samir Al-Najdi opened the scientific day confirming QOU’s devotion for scientific research through allocating a special budget for scientific research, encouraging its faculty members to participate in local and international conferences and publishing 5 refereed scientific journals.
The scientific session started with a paper for Dr. Mohammed Shaheen, President Assistant for Student Affairs and the Coordinator for the Psychological and Educational Counselling program. The paper entitled “experimental research and its various designs”. The second paper for Prof. Husni Awad, Deanship of Graduate studies and Scientific Research entitled “between quoting and plagiarism in the scientific research”. The third paper was for Prof. Omar Atiq, a Faculty Member in the Arabic Language and Literature program, entitled “lights about dissertation writing in the Arabic language and literature”.
