The scientific journals accreditation committee in the University of Jordan issued a decision to accredit QOU’s refereed journals for academic upgrade. This decision is a result of the cooperation between QOU and the University of Jordan in the various scientific and academic fields.
QOU issues five refereed scientific journals in the field of human and social sciences, administrative and economic sciences, educational and psychological sciences, technology and applied sciences, open learning and e-learning and all of them are refereed. Four of the journals acquired the Arab Impact Factor while the fifth did not since it a newly issued one and it is the first of its kind in Palestine in the technology field that is issued in English.
Prof. Husni Awad, Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research confirmed that the University’s journals enjoys a good reputation on the local and regional levels as they keep up with the international scientific developments. QOU’s journals use an electronic open source system that is featured by modern quality and excellence standards, besides they use Digital Object Identifier that guarantees intellectual property. In addition, the journals are linked to the international and Arabic data bases like, google scholar, DVAJ, e-Marefa, Manhal, Arabic information network and registering procedure for Scopus, ISI WEP and other is underway.
Prof. Awad also mentioned that the University’s journals publish scientific researches for researchers from international, regional and local universities and organizations like researchers from Malaysia, Iran, Turkey and others.
QOU President invited researchers in the arab and Islamic worlds to publish their works in the QOU’s journals as they follow publishing policies or the open-access publishing that is free of charge in order to support scientific research.
