On Sunday, 2/9/2018 Dr. Sabri Saidam, Minister of Education and higher Education and Prof. Younis Amr, QOU President signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in order to support and activate vocational education programs in Palestine. 

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Basri Saleh, Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education, Ihab Al-Qubaj, Acting Director General of Vocational and Technical Education, Eng. Wisam Nakhleh and Acting Director of International and Public Relations, Niveen Musleh. From QOU, Acting Director of Continuing Education and Community Service Center, Mohammed Fahil. 

Dr. Saidam confirmed the role of the Ministry in developing policies and general plans for vocational and technical education and its role in the direct supervision on the public and private vocational education organizations. It also aims at enhancing partnership between the public and the private sectors and improving the relations between the academic institutes and the work places. 

The Minister stressed the importance of this MOU that proves the Ministry’s concern about the vocational education sector and improving it to fulfill the needs in the local and international labor market and to serve the national development.    

Prof. Amr said that this MOU indicates the importance of the vocational education for youth in order to qualify them to achieve national development and perform projects that attract various sectors that aim at fighting poverty and unemployment.  Prof. Amr also added that QOU is committed to develop vocational education programs to be accredited in the University.
