The Faculty of Technology and Applied Sciences participates in "Artificial Intelligence and the Fight Against Covid-19: Between Challenges and Opportunities" forum

Dr. Walid Awad Acting Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Applied Sciences, Dr. Raed Basbous, Assistant Dean, Dr. Nael Abu Halawa, Advisor at the  Information and Communication Technology Center , Prof. Yousef Abu Zir, Head of Libraries and Information Technology, and Dr. Muhammad Abu Omar, Head of Computer Information Systems Department  participated in a virtual Forum organized by The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “ICESCO” in partnership with the Civic Forum for Artificial Intelligence "AI Civic Forum", titled " Artificial Intelligence and the Fight Against Covid-19: Between Challenges and Opportunities ", via zoom technology on Monday 27/04/2020.

The Forum which was attended by Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, Director General of (ICESCO), and international experts and academics discussed AI applications to help tackle the Corona pandemic, the ethical challenges posed by communication tracking applications, as well as the current and future challenges and lessons learned from the epidemic. It also explored artificial intelligence (AI) potentials in countering natural disasters and health crises, including Covid-19, in addition to strategic foresight in this field.
