The Ministry of Education holds a need assessment test within the project Improving Student Skills for Innovation and Sustainable Development through STEAM and Coding in Palestinian Schools implemented with UNESCO and QOU

 The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Al-Quds Open University, held a need assessment test within the project  “Improving Student Skills for Innovation and Sustainable Development through STEAM and Coding in Palestinian Schools” funded by the Government of Japan.

The first phase of the project dealt with assessing the needs of teachers, which will be followed by training (84) trainers for (60) training hours. These trainers, for their part, will train (720) male and female students (360 of them are from grades 5-8, and 360 from grades 9 - 11) on coding, artificial intelligence and robotics.

The project team consists of: Mr. Majdi Muammar, Ms. Hana Omran and Mr. Mustafa Mutair from the Ministry of Education, and Ms. Nisreen Musleh, UNESCO Educational Project Officer, and QOU team which included  Dr. Nael Abu Halawa, project Manager, Dr. Mahmoud Hawamdeh, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Community Service, and Eng. Saeda Abu Halawa, Project coordinator.
