The President of Al-Quds Open University Receives the Nicaraguan Ambassador to Palestine

 The President of Al-Quds Open University, Prof. Younes Amro, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua to Palestine, H.E. Roberto Morales Tuesday 12/14/2021,

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Amr welcomed the Ambassador and briefed him on QOU and the academic developments in Palestine expressing his happiness to cooperate with the Nicaraguan Embassy in Palestine, and said, "The exchange between friends on the issue of universities is beneficial for both countries. We are proud of Nicaragua, as it is a country that is absolutely supportive for the Palestinians, and we extend our greetings to the leadership, led by President Daniel Ortega "Prof. Amr expressed  that Al-Quds Open University is ready to cooperate in various fields, whether in conducting scientific research or student and academic exchange between Palestinian universities and their Nicaraguan counterparts”. Prof. Amr confirmed, "Al-Quds Open University is ready to establish a Palestinian-Nicaraguan research center for researches related to Latin American countries to facilitate the exchange of scientific and cultural experiences between Palestine and Latin countries."

For his part, Ambassador Morales affirmed Nicaragua's support for the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, the establishment of their independent state, and the struggle against the Israeli occupation. He added, "We are happy to strengthen the Palestinian-Nicaraguan relations, especially in the field of education and higher education, which includes young people and activates their role in the two countries to exchange experiences in various fields."

The meeting was attended by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Samir Al-Najdi, the Assistant President for Public and International Relations and Media Affairs, Dr. Imad Hodli, The Assistant President for Follow-up Affairs Dr. Alaa Shakhshir, the Vice President of the University for Student Affairs, Dr. Iyad Shtayyeh, and Ms. Lina Abu Hilal, Head of the International Relations Division and  by  Member of The Union of Palestinian Communities in Latin America and the Caribbean (COBLAC) Mr. Jacob Salloum.
