Al-Quds Open University takes part in a meeting for France Alumni

 Al-Quds Open University took part in a meeting for France Alumni organized by the French Consulate General at the Kasbah Theater in Ramallah. The meeting was held in the presence of Consul General, Mr. René Trokaz, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof.  Mahmoud Abu Mowais, in addition to consulate officials and graduates of French universities.

Dr. Imad Hodali, President Assistant of Al-Quds Open University for Public and International Relations and Media, was chosen by the French Consulate as one of the distinguished success stories of graduates of French universities.

 Dr. Hodali spoke in the main session, which was moderated by the French Cultural Attaché, Mr. Guillaume Robert, about his education at the De La Salle - Frères High School where he learned the French language, and then he moved to France where he obtained his Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. degree from French universities,  and how his distinguished learning experience in France reflected on his working experience at Al-Quds Open University for more than 23 years.

Dr. Hodali also talked about the joint projects between "Al-Quds Open University" and French universities, which had a significant impact on the development of e-learning projects at the university since 2003, such as the Avicenna Virtual University project of UNESCO, the Open Digital Space for the Mediterranean e-Omed, the French language project developed by the university in cooperation with the The University of Toulouse,   the Peace Program that aims at  achieving European-Palestinian academic cooperation, and the International Network for Youth in Marginalized Areas and Social Inequality, based in Paris.

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Hodli was elected as the Vice President of (e-Omed) for media affairs, which includes a number of member universities from the Mediterranean basin and is based in Montpellier in France. He was also elected as a board member of the Association of French Universities Alumni « Al Rafic. » 

The meeting included a general discussion, in which Palestinian academics who graduated from France, especially in the field of higher education and scientific research, participated, stressing their keenness to continue and strengthen cooperation with France, including signing more agreements to promote integrated academic programs and technical disciplines that meet the needs of the Palestinian labor market.
