QOU Participates in the Third General Assembly Meeting of Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean Academic Network (BSEMAN),

 Al-Quds Open University participated in the third general assembly meeting of Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean Academic Network (BSEMAN), which was held via (Zoom) the virtual communication technology.

The University was represented by Dr. Eng. Imad Hodali, President Assistant for Public and International Relations and Media Affairs, who presented an intervention focusing on the experience of QOU in blended learning through employing its expertise in the field of modern technology and investing it for the benefit of educational purposes and stimulating the creative initiatives at QOU  that emerged during Covid-19 pandemic.

On the sidelines of the General Assembly meeting, an academic conference was held under the title "Opportunities for Scientific Research and International Academic Cooperation".

The conference reviewed opportunities to benefit from the European support for educational institutions in the black sea and Eastern Mediterranean countries in order to promote joint scientific research among the member states of the Network, where a brainstorming session was held for the participation of members on proposals for joint projects.

The meeting also discussed the implementation plan during the spring of next year, including preparation for the fourth general assembly meeting which is expected to be held at the University of Nicosia in Cyprus, and looking for sources of funding for the network through (Erasmus +) projects.

In addition to Al-Quds open university, Birzeit University and the Islamic University in Gaza attended the meeting, while representatives of (14) member states of the network attended: Russia, Lebanon, Syria, Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Kazakhstan and Cyprus. Moreover, Belarus, Ukraine, Turkey, and the Czech Republic.

It is noteworthy that "Al-Quds Open University" officially joined the aforementioned network as a founding member, during its participation in 2018 in the works of the founding conference of the network, which was held in Aristotle University of Greece, and in the second general assembly meeting held in the Russian University of Rostov in 2019

The network aims to enhance academic cooperation between the universities of the Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean countries by developing joint research projects in various scientific disciplines, establishing a network of communication and databases for the participating institutions, issuing scientific periodicals, organizing scientific workshops and conferences, as well as organizing events that bring together academics and business communities in the region, developing academic cooperation at all levels of higher education, as well as in the field of vocational training and short courses, and launching initiatives that bring together young people in the region, socially, academically and professionally.
