Al-Quds Open University participates in the seventh international scientific forum organized by the ARID Platform

 Al-Quds Open University participated in the seventh international forum titled: Digital scientific communication: prospects for advancement.organized by the ARID platform for Arabic-speaking scholars, Experts and Researchers.

Prof. Younes Amr,  QOU President, who was guest of honor at the forum, spoke at the opening session in which he stressed the need for researchers to respond to the information and digital revolution that the world is witnessing in recent decades in order to digitize heritage and scientific production published in the Arabic language, and with the aim of developing scientific research capabilities for non-Arabic speakers . He also talked about  the Repository for Digital Content established by the university, which includes the scientific production of all faculty members of QOU, which is the first of its kind in Palestine.

Prof. Hosni Awad, Dean graduate Studies and Scientific Research, stated that Al-Quds Open University has worked early in response to the information and digital revolution that the world has witnessed in recent decades to digitize its scientific production. All refereed journals issued by QOU use an open source electronic system (Open-Access Publishing), all of which are open and free to publish and access and it is linked to a number of local, Arab and international databases.

Prof. Awad also emphasized that digitizing heritage and scientific production published in the Arabic language is an important step, as it has an impact on enhancing the academic, social and economic value of the Arabic language and Arab scientific research.
