Pre-requisite: Literature 1 course number (8352) Modern Short Fiction (8359) is designed to give the student a survey of the general development of prose fiction. Equally important is the target of training the student to read, enjoy, comprehend, analyze, and evaluate major modern short fiction. This training is achieved by presenting critical discussion of each text centered on its salient elements or aspects. This course provides the student with all the information about the course in terms of the content of the course and the materials he/she would need to understand the course very well as well as how to work his/her way through these materials. There are also Self-Assessment Exercises (SAEs) embedded in each unit to help the students in their study. This course is to give you an overview of the origin of prose fiction and its evolution. This will include a discussion of the major phases in the development of prose fiction.

This course is designed to improve English language skills of Palestinian students. It is offered to students as an eBook with clear, practical exercises and interactive lessons and activities. These activities are designed to engage students in a number of ways with content, rather than passively absorb it. The course follows a variety of interesting themes and topics, with a focus on English language four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The course consists of eight units: six major units and two revision units. Each of the eight units provides opportunities for thinking and discussion and presents a theme and topics through three reading texts. Each reading text has a preparation task, a reading text and tasks that offer language practice to help students understand text with everyday speech using a variety of language skills. In addition, each unit includes other major activities relating to grammar, pronunciation, language use, listening and writing, for which audio-visual links and online activities are integrated to make it easier for students to master language skills and develop their linguistic competences.

متطلب سابق 0113 اللغة الإنجليزية (1) English 2 is a general English textbook for Palestinian EFL learners who want to communicate well with others. Based on using technology and innovative methods of teaching, the textbook combines face-to-face and online learning with new features that enhance collaborative learning, blended learning with interactive activities, inquiry-based learning, flipped learning, jigsaw techniques, and project-based learning. Moreover, many student-centered activities are also included in the units of the textbook. English 2 consists of six core units with two revision ones. Each of the main units has three sections covering several concepts that meet EFL learners' needs and interests. The themes highlighted by these units are Work, Internet and Technology, Festivals and Celebrations, Languages and Communication, Entertainment, and Get Healthy. Each unit is divided into three subsections focusing on the main skills of language learning listening, reading, speaking, and writing; in addition to vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and language use that aim at improving students' language accuracy and fluency. Many Online tasks and activities also appear in each section to enhance autonomy learning. Units also contain a variety of language functions and activities meant to improve the students' overall proficiency and competence in English. Some of the online activities will be conducted at home and in the Language Lab at the university. A soft copy of the textbook is accessible online in addition to the hard copy that teachers and students use in classes. The activities of this book are also uploaded on Moodle to enable students to work at their convenience and according to their pace.
