The Participation of Al-Quds Open University in a Conference in Cairo about the Quality Control and Accreditation of Higher Education in Arab States

Al-Quds Open University participated in a conference about “The Quality Control and Accreditation of Higher Education in Arab States” held in Cairo, between 24-26 November 2004, under the auspices of the Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in collaboration with The League of Arab States, and with the presence of a number of Arab and foreign states.

Many considered the conference to be the first in the entire region about the administration of quality control and accreditation of Higher Education.

Dr. Osama Al-Meemi from the Quality Control Department at Al-Quds Open University attended the conference as a representative of QOU. During the conference, Dr. Al-Meemi presented a distinguished research paper entitled “Toward the Application of a Comprehensive Quality System at Al-Quds Open University”, through which he displayed a practical plan that any educational institution could adopt and benefit from. A number of participants expressed their admiration of Dr. Al-Meemi’s paper because the researcher displayed a deep, continuous planning and interest in quality in education.
