The Public Relations Department
The Public Relations Department of Al-Quds Open University was established ever since the establishment of the University’s first headquarters in Palestine in 1991.
Being a cornerstone of the University’s administrative system, and for the importance of this department, the Public Relations Officer has to report directly to the president of the University.
The department has been assigned to fulfill the following tasks:
- Reinforcing the image of Al-Quds Open University (QOU) in Palestine, Arab world, and among international institutions through preparing and supervising production of publicity brochures, mail leaflets, photographs, and annual reports, in addition to planning campaigns and press releases.
- Strengthening and improving relationships between the university and the internal, local, regional and international communities. For This purpose it endeavors to bring to focus QOU mission and activities in areas of both academic and community services. This role is achieved through initiating effective communication with local and international universities, cultural institutes, and mass media.
- Endeavoring to get scholarships for faculty and staff members to go for graduate studies, study visits and training courses.
- Helping to improve and develop the University’s website.
- Answering enquiries from individuals and other organizations about QOU system and regulations.
- Issuing the “Year Book” which is an annual full coverage of QOU graduates, employees and other updated information and statistics.
- Coordinating participation of faculty and staff members in conferences, seminars and workshops, to increase interaction between the University and other institutions.
- Writing the minutes of meetings between University officials and visiting faculty and guests.
- Sending seasonal greeting cards and letters to local and international institutions as well as to prominent individuals on religious and national occasions.
