Human Resources

The Human resources Department reports directly to the Vice President for Administrative Affairs.

The overall objective of the Human Resources Department is to deliver an integrated service in line with the University's vision and strategic framework, and to this end, its main areas of activity are as follows:
  1. Advisory Service to Vice-President, University Committees, Heads of Departments on employment legislation and human resource issues.
  2. General Personnel Management service to the University and its constituent departments including:
    - Recruitment and selection of all staff;
    - Systems for probation, progression and promotion;
    - Redeployment, retirement and redundancy;
    - Conditions of service;
    - Performance appraisal;
    - Grievance and discipline;
    - Statistics and staffing information for internal planning and external reporting purposes.
  3. Staff Development and Training;
  4. Health, Safety and Environmental Management.
