Introduction:
In line with AL-Quds Open University policy to establish study centers in major towns and cities in Palestine, Qalqiliya Study Center was established in 1998, and then promoted in 2003 to be an Educational Region. The aim of this Educational Region, as is the case of all study centers and educational regions in Palestine, is to enable the Palestinians to realize their dreams, and improve their social and professional statuses while studying at home, and at their free time. Furthermore, Qalqiliya Educational Region has recently acquired a special importance because of the construction of the Racist Separation Wall, which engulfs and isolates Qalqiliya.

History of Qalqiliya Educational Region:
When Qalqiliya Study Center was established, it was situated in an apartment of 500 square meters rented from the Municipality of Qalqiliya, and was used for administrative and teaching purposes. Later, the area of the Educational Region was enlarged by two additional floors, and to be 1500 square meters.

Number of Staff and Students
The Study Center started with a director, a registrar, a secretary, a janitor, and 150 students. Now, there are 15 Administrators, 47 academic supervisors and about 1700 students in the Educational Region.
