Bethlehem Educational Region

News and Activities:

  • A workshop on the skills of using the Academic Website of the University was held for the full-time and part-time academic supervisors and administrative staff.
In the introductory meeting Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shaer ــ Director of the Region ــ addressed the participants and welcomed them all to the workshop. He emphasized that everyone should demonstrate a strong sense of commitment and belonging to the University and should preserve the good reputation that the university has established through exerting their utmost efforts in the most possible manner. He also urged the participants to use the University Website (the Bawwaba) in order to maintain contact and communication with both their students and colleagues here and in other regions and study centres. In addition, Dr. Ibrahmi Al-Sha'er pointed out that the University has made big strides towards becoming an e-university. Hence, it becomes imperative for all the university employees in general and the academic staff in particular to keep abreast of the technologies and skills of using the university academic website and intranet. The aim is eventually to conduct online-discussions with students to substitute classroom face-to-face meetings in which case greater numbers of students can participate whether in the same region or other regions. Further, this technology will make communication a rapid process at the university level and with the world at large.
Dr. Al-Sha'er speech stimulated a lot of positive discussion during which the participants expressed great interest in the university achievement in this technology. Dr. Al-Sha'er answered all queries raised by the participants.
Then the discussion was followed by a demonstration of how the university website (Bawwaba) can be used. The demonstration was given by the three technicians in the region: Mr. Jum'a Zawahra, Mr. Jihad Hammad and Mr. 'Ala' 'Adel. In the following day the participants were given more demonstration and instruction and each was able to practice sending messages and browsing.
All participants were impressed and overwhelmed by the achievement the university has made in this domain.
