Registration
- Every student at QOU must register for, at least, 2 credit hours course in a semester.
- The maximum number of credit hours the student allowed to register for is 18 in a semester.
- The student may register for practical courses for the summer, if they do not exceed two credit hours in total.
- The university allows students who are expected to graduate in a certain semester to register for 21 credit hours.
- Every student is assigned to a full-time academic supervisor in his educational region or study center who will help him choose the courses he wants to study each semester, and that will be in accordance with his program study plan and to a form approved by the university.
- The student is allowed to register for any course; if there is a pre-requisite/s to any course, the student is not permitted register for it unless he passed successfully the pre-requisite course/s first. However, the student is allowed to register for a course and its pre-requisite if he previously took it at QOU or at any other university but he did not pass, or if his graduation depends upon that course and its pre-requisite.
- If a student registers for a course that is not included in his academic study plan, the credit hours of this course will not be counted for graduation purposes.
- The student can withdraw from any course with the consent of his assigned supervisor, provided that the withdrawal takes place at least one week before prior to the final exams. In such a case, the student fills an official form and submits it to the directorate of the educational region or the study center. As a result, the word “withdrawn” appears in the student’s grades report adjacent to the name of the withdrawn course.
- The student is permitted, after the approval of the advisor, to add any course during the first two weeks of the first and second semesters, and the first week of the summer school.
- If a student registered and studied any course more than one time, the last grade will be calculated and included in the student’s aggregation mark. However, the credit hours of such a course is counted only once for graduation purposes.
