Academic Programs and Specializations

All Academic Programs lead to B.A and B.Sc. degrees
General Academic Plan to All Programs at Al-Quds Open University

Types of Courses Given

  1. Constitutive Courses (28 Credit Hours)
    They are general courses required by all the university students regardless of their specializations. These courses are divided into two parts:
    1. Compulsory Constitutive Courses (22 Credit Hours).
    2. Optional Constitutive Courses (6 Credit Hours).
    N.B. “The Islamic Culture”, a-three credit hour course is compulsory for students in Education Program, despite the fact that this course is included in the list of “Optional Constitutive Courses” in other programs.
  2. Main Courses (18-32 Credit Hours)
    They are courses that constitute a broad base for all specializations in a certain Academic Program.
  3. Specialized Courses (69-81 Credit Hours)
    They are courses given exclusively to students of a certain specialization.
  4. Free Courses (6 Credit Hours)
    The student chooses these courses from outside his academic specialization.
    N.B. Manpower Administration # 4201 and Organizational Behavior # 4202 are two alternative courses for students in Computer Information Systems.

  1. Education Program contains the following specializations:
    - Arabic Language
    - English Language
    - Primary (Elementary) Education
    - Islamic Education
    - Mathematics
    - Social Sciences
    - General Science
  2. Technology and Applied Sciences Program
    There are two specializations in this program:
    - Computer Information Systems
    - Information and Communication Technology
  3. Administration and Economic Sciences Program with the following specializations:
    - Accountancy
    - Economics
    - Marketing
    - Finance
    - Business Administration
  4. Social and Family Development
    There is one specialization in this program, which is
    - Social Service
  5. Agriculture Program that contains the following specializations:
    Agricultural Science
    - Plant Breeding and Crop Protection
    - Animal Breeding
