Transferring from Other Universities or Other Higher Educational Institutions

  • Each University branch has a committee for evaluating the applications of students who wish to transfer from other recognized higher education institutions to Al-Quds Open University. Transfer credit will be considered by the committee after evaluation of a student’s course work. Courses acceptable for transfer must be substantially in line with the course of study offered by QOU, and must serve a useful purpose in the particular curriculum which the student proposes to follow as well as the program plan for the intended specialization.
  • Applications should be submitted to the University branch where acceptance is decided by the special committee.
  • Learners are permitted to register under the following conditions
    1. Learner should meet QOU admission requirements.
    2. QOU accepts credits in transfer only from accredited colleges and universities.
    3. Only those credits which carry a grade of at least C (Good) may be transferred.
  • QOU Students who wish to take courses at another institution after being enrolled in QOU are required to supply official transcripts upon re-enrolment according to item (32) of these instructions, on condition that their request is approved by QOU Academic Department, and not contradicting item (11) of these instructions.
  • Students who earn a bachelor’s degree or a Diploma from a university or community college may have credits transferred to QOU according to the following procedures:
    1. Submitting an application to the committee in charge of credits transfer.
    2. Committee in charge studies every application and decides what credited to be counted according to curriculum and credit transfer laws.
    3. In all cases of students who had previously earned the BA degree, the following points should be taken into consideration:
      • Learner should complete successfully not less than 60 credit hours at QOU before graduation.
      • Learner should attend at least four semesters at QOU including the last two semesters.
      • A Qou graduate who wish to re-register at QOU to work toward another university degree will normally be considered for readmission Transfer credit will be considered after departmental evaluation of a student’s course work.( see item 34) of these instructions.
