Courses of B.Sc. Specialization in Information Technology and Communication (ITC)
The importance of Information Technology and Communications (ITC) in modern society has grown exponentially in recent times following globalization and the pervasive influence of the internet.
ITC in Palestine, as an emerging state, is still only in its infancy. A review of the existing programs
at the Palestinian universities reveals the unavailability of ITC programs, but on the other hand an
evaluation of the labor market demand in Palestine shows an under-supply in ITC graduates. Therefore, ITC specialization has been launched in the University.
Justifications:
- Our time is described as the age of technology and information. This specialization is necessary for keeping pace with this age.
- The community need for this specialization is always on the increase, particularly as we are now in the process of moving toward a Palestinian state, of which Information Technology and Communications is a requirement.
- This specialization is suitable for Open education and distance Learning, a system adopted by our university.
- This specialization satisfies the economic, social and cultural needs of the community members and opens wider horizons for them to improve their positions.
- Requirements of this specialization, academically and materially, are not difficult to make available, for we can make use of some courses offered for the specialization of Computer Information Systems. We can also utilize material and technical capabilities available in the Information and Communication Technology Center (ICTC) of QOU.
