Al-Samou’ Municipality obtains an EU grant of 450 thousand euros to serve the marginalized areas in Al- Samou’ in cooperation with Al Quds Open university.
It is worth mentioning that QOU implemented two projects through the Community Development and Resilience Program in Area C and East Jerusalem, of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the mobile learning center that aimed to improve educational opportunities in the marginalized areas of South Yatta and Samou, and the Mobile Learning Center project to improve educational opportunities in the marginalized areas of Tubas and the Northern Jordan Valley.
The Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Community Service, Mr. Mahmoud Hawamdeh, mentioned that this project comes in line with the philosophy of the Center for Continuing Education and Community Service in cooperation with civil society organizations, to improve their services through the cadres and resources that are available at the University in its branches in all Palestinian governorates.
Hawamdeh emphasized that the project aims to develop the services provided by the municipality. A strategic plan will be developed for the Municipality in a way that contributes to providing better legal and psychological services for the citizens and civil society organizations working in the town, empower the role of women at work, and activate national industries.
