The President of Al-Quds Open University participates in a Zoom Webinar on "E-learning experience in Palestine and the future of higher education after Covid-19 pandemic"

 The President of Al-Quds Open University, Prof. Younes Amr, participated in a Zoom webinar on “E-learning experience in Palestine and the future of higher education after Covid-19 pandemic".

The webinar was organized by "The Palestinian Commission for Doctoral Holders in the Public Employment" with the participation of Prof. Mahmoud Abu Mowais, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Ali Abu Zuhri, Member of the Executive Committee of the PLO, Chairman of the National Committee for Culture, Education and Science, and Major General Tawfiq Al-Terway,member of the Fatah Central Committee.

Prof.  Abu Mwais, indicated that The Ministry is preparing a digitalization policy for higher education in order to regulate the process and put the foundations for the next new phase.

For his part, Prof. Younes Amr indicated that Al-Quds Open University is ready to present, in cooperation with other universities its successful experience in e learning and stressed on the importance of developing plans and curricula that favor e learning through blended education. He said, “During this pandemic, QOU, with the help of the Ministry of Education, produced educational materials for high school students and eleventh grade students, through a special studio established for this purpose". Prof. Amr also said, "Integrated education can be used to reduce the big cost of higher education, as well as giving the opportunity of education for the largest possible number of students. Prof Amr emphasized the need to support Palestinian higher education institutions, as universities suffer from financial crises.
