QOU and Ma'an Development Center sign a MOU to develop agricultural income generating projects

 QOU and Ma’an Development Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish agricultural income generating projects.

The MOU was signed by Prof. Younes Amr, President of Al-Quds Open University and Mr. Sami Khader, Director General of Ma’an Development Center at the headquarter of the University in Ramallah.

Prof.  Younes Amr commented that around 200 students are enrolled at the Faculty of Agriculture at QOU. This memorandum will help students by providing agricultural income generating projects and job opportunities.

Prof. Amr commented that the role of QOU comes through a committee representing the University for administrative and technical follow-up with Ma’an Centre, as well as in coordination with the departments of the relevant Branches and Centers of the University, in order to facilitate implementing the project.

Mr. Sami Khader expressed his happiness to cooperate with QOU and said that this is second agreement that is signed between the University and the Center with the aim of empowering students at eth faculty of agriculture. It is worth mentioning that the project is financed by the Canadian government, in partnership with Save the Children Foundation and the Agricultural Relief Association.

During the project period, in the next three years, 400-500 projects will be assisted, both technically and financially, in transforming ideas into income-generating projects that shall create jobs for the graduates  of the Faculty of Agriculture of Al-Quds Open University.
